Play Games from Chrome Web Store in your Google Chrome Browser
Google’s announced Chrome Web Store is essentially an open marketplace for web applications. Chrome web store aims to make it easy for developers to package and release apps or games that can be launched through the Chrome browser. The chrome webs store Google said will be available soon. The store will be accessible through Google’s Chrome Web browser, which the company said now has 70 million users, up from 30 million in June 2009.
The Chrome Web Store simplifies app purchasing on the web, the way Apple has done on its devices with App store. Consumers can browse a variety of apps while viewing their ratings and reviews and purchase them with a single click, presumably with Google Checkout. The Chrome Web Store will work with any browser, though Chrome users will be able to take advantage of a special built-in app launcher area.
Chrome’s Web Store is expected to launch in the fall of 2010 without in-app payments initially but post launch will have multi-currency support. With a massive user base of 70 million + users, developers could be interested in uploading their game to the Chrome Web Store, especially since the process will be very simple:
1. Create a web based game using your preferred technology
2. Create a wrapper with meta data included to publish on the store
3. Upload the app with required information
Applications will run the gamut of software types, from productivity programs to video games.
During the presentation, demonstrations were made of Popcap’s Plants Vs. Zombies, along with a port of LEGO Star Wars called LEGO Star Wars: The Quest for R2-D2. Both games launched immediately, with the Star Wars title running smoothly in full 3D. The devices will only access Web-based software, and Google has said the computers will be able to boot up in a few seconds.

Google Chrome: New Extensions, New Apps
Add-ons is a huge factor which made Firefox fun to use and it seems that Chrome has taken notice. With the promise of a faster and stabler browsing experience, Google releases Chrome 4, with an impressive array of new extensions, hoping to turn over the avid IE or Firefox user.
What to look forward to.
These extensions, which are similar to a phone applications, employ the same multiprocess technology to save the browser from slowdowns and crashes. So say you’ll be using an app called “TooManyTabs” (which you are using expectedly because of a lot of open tabs on your browser), you can still expect smooth sailing even while you are using “Google Wave Notifier”, an app which displays number of unread Waves in your Google Wave account and “FastestFox, once a FireFox add-on which helps auto-load pages, speed up searching etc. The apps mentioned also happen to be some of the most popular downloads from the Chrome Extensions library. Other apps of note are “AdBlock”, “AdThwart”, “Google Translate” and “Google Mail Checker”.
Developers will also be happy to know that HTML and JavaScript APIs are supported. Included are Web SQL Database, which allows local storage of structured date; WebSockets, which sends data back and forth over a persistent communications channel; and a Windows-only notification API that passes non-disruptive updates in the user’s status bar area. Chrome, Google, Surfing
Surfing The Web With Google Chrome
There are now many great internet browsers for high speed internet users to use to access their favorite websites. Originally the only way to access the internet was with AOL’s special program or using Netscape Navigator if you had internet from a local internet service provider. As the internet has become so popular there are now many different browsers available with lots of cool features. Now for both Windows and Macintosh computers you have Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome, which come with amazingly cool add-ons to make surfing the internet even greater. In addition, for Apple computers you have the standard Safari web browser, and for Windows, you have Microsoft’s Internet Explorer.
Google Chrome is the latest internet browser available and has some of the coolest features available. Many internet browsers recognized the popularity of Google, and in recent versions of their web browsers they have added special ‘toolbars’ with a Google search space available. These ‘toolbars’ can be very annoying because they significantly diminish the size of the browser window, and they often have extra unnecessary features that take up space.
With Google Chrome you don’t have to worry about any special ‘toolbar’ to use the Google search engine. In fact you don’t even have to go to the Google website to use its powerful search engine. With Google Chrome all that you need to do is type your search into the URL bar (the same place where you will typically type a web address) and you hit the return key and you will be directed to your search results from Google. It is the easiest way for you to search the internet using Google.
Google Chrome has many cool extensions for the user to choose from. One very useful and simple extension is the weather channel extension. A miniature icon is located to the right of the URL bar with a picture of the current weather in the specific location that you choose. For example if it is sunny outside, there will be a small picture of the sun with the current temperature on top of it. If you double-click on the icon, a window will drop down showing the current satellite or radar conditions of your area, and give you the forecast for the next 36 hours. All of these things can be done in a couple of clicks and you don’t have to go through the process of going to The Weather Channel website.
With the freed up time that Google Chrome affords you, you can take advantage of a very cool extension called StumbleUpon. This is a very cool application that will take you for an interesting trip around the World Wide Web. With your broadband internet connection and Google Chrome, you can use StumbleUpon to find websites that you never knew existed. An icon is also next to the URL bar, like the weather icon, and when you click that a ‘toolbar’ will drop down and it allows you to ‘Stumble.’ There is a button which says Stumble and when you click that it will take you to a random website, if you like it you can add it to your favorites, and if you don’t then you can click Stumble again and go on to another website. When you are done ‘Stumbling’ you can close the toolbar, and go back to you work.
These are just a couple of the hundreds of extensions that are available for Google Chrome. You can start exploring these and many others when you download Google Chrome with your broadband internet.

Chrome, Google, Soon, Unveiled
Google Chrome OS to be Unveiled Soon
Google has certainly made its presence felt in the tech industry this year with a series of launches and acquisitions. The entire year has been eventful for the firm who are one the leading players in the Internet sector. As new ideas and inventions from Google always seem to catch the attention of the public, the launch of its Chrome operating system is sure to enhance healthy competition.
If you take avid interest on Internet Set Upand the various issues related to it you should not confuse it with the Google Chrome browser. The entire operating system is based on the Linux Kernel model. The purpose behind the quick launch of the system is that it has to be configured in the ecosystem of Internet Set Up by the end of 2010. This is not obviously the biological ecosystem but the project partners of Google Chrome who can be classified as Acer, HP, Toshiba, Qualcomm, Lenovo and ASUS.
As Google hopes to launch the operating system within a week, the firm wants to generate considerable hype in the market. Its well known that intense competition prevails in the Internet industry and the launch of Windows 7 by Microsoft has led Google to come up with the scheme.
The project plan for Google was conceived back in the month of July as it never wants to fall behind in the race to excel in the Internet Set Up market. But according to some experts, the choice of the name has been unsatisfactory as it is shared with the web browser. The mistake on the selection of the name may end up on a heavy note for Google when the revenues don’t start coming in. The branding of many other marketing campaigns from Google has been well planned but this one has been an exception.
If we take a closer look at the operating system, what makes it different is that it is fast and lightweight. It works from an open source and sits on the top of a Linux kernel. An entirely fresh windowing system will be used and the platform for application development will be the web.
It is also quite startling that the project partners of Google for this particular operating system have maintained their silence on the issue and not revealed anything much. Probably, they are still negotiating with Microsoft to run Windows 7 at a cheap rate on their notebooks. As original equipment manufacturers, their market is open so a deal with just anybody is not out of question. To catch up with competition, Google is negotiating with all of them to provide a subsidized rate.
A series of deals and acquisitions by Google in the recent times have made the firm come under a lot of criticism. The experts have commented that they are only competing with themselves and making the users confused with such a wide portfolio of services.
It remains to be seen what kind of an impact the Chrome OS from Google creates in the market has the popularity of Windows 7 is already on a high after its October launch.
